"In the Beginning . . .", the Bankester Family's debut CD project is now available. Featuring beautiful family harmonies, the thirteen-track CD is receiving great reviews and is being played at many broadcast stations across the country as well as Australia, and around the world on 'bluegrasscountry.org and other internet music sites.

The CD is a vocal project, complimented by the amazing, tasteful fiddle and mandolin work of Mark Stoffel. Mike Harman (Alison Krauss & Union Station 1985-1990) contributes fine banjo performances on three tracks.

"My own experience with family bluegrass bands is that they can be either very good or absolutely terrible. Fortunately, this collection from Illinois' Bankester Family falls onto the positive side. What really stands out in this mostly gospel collection is the innocence and sincerity of the vocal harmonies, especially on "Jewels," "Will There Be Any Stars," "Heaven's Bright Shore," and "When God Dipped His Pen Of Love In My Heart." There are also tantalizing arrangements of "I Want To Be A Real Cowboy Girl" and Merle Travis' "Dark As A Dungeon" (complete with a spoken intro about the rigors of coal mining)."
